S&P500 - 2021 and 1995

Another all time high and another 1000 points from the high it made on 31st Aug 2020. This year on an average, the index has generated an absolute return of 3.2% on average, in any 30 trading day period.

In 1995 (the year that holds the record for the most number of all time highs for the index, a record which the index is steadily gaining on this year), the index generated an absolute return of 3.3% on average, in any 30 day period. In effect, you could have invested into the index on any day this year (and in 1995) and generated a positive return in 30 trading days, with the exception of 7 days (10 days in 1995).

All of this while more stocks are trading below their 200 day average since April this year. Not sure how long this is sustainable but right now, one can only imagine the state of the index call sellers and put buyers.
